A ‘one and done’ active anti-ageing night cream so you can spend more time sleeping and less time applying skincare.
What does it do?
From reducing the look of uneven tone and fine lines to managing acne – there’s not much retinal can’t do, and that’s why it’s in this potent night serum. A derivative of vitamin A, retinal is a unique ingredient because it offers transformative results without the irritation often associated with retinol or vitamin A. Retinal is pretty clever, too – it can help speed up your skin’s natural cellular turnover process. What does that mean? Skin will appear smoother and have a firmer, more even-toned appearance. We add niacinamide (vitamin B3) to our formula, which not only helps manage acne, eczema and rosacea but also helps strengthen your skin’s barrier and tackle pigmentation. For use on all skin types, however not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Would my skin prefer light or rich?
I’d recommend the ‘Rich’ version if you regularly use vitamin A (i.e. retinol), have oily skin or experience acne. The ‘Rich’ version contains a higher strength retinal and glycolic acid to address these concerns. Whereas the ‘Light’ version, while still highly effective, contains slightly lower strengths which makes it ideal for those who want anti-ageing benefits but don't have problematic skin.
How do I use it?
Apply 2-3 pumps on your face and neck every night after cleansing. This can be applied alone or layered under a thicker moisturiser if you want an extra hit of hydration.
When it comes to using any vitamin A (including retinal), it pays to ease your skin into it - especially if you're more on the sensitive side or haven't used active skincare before. Apply it every second or third night to begin with and work up to daily application from there.
It's important to note that retinal makes skin more sensitive to the sun, so PLEASE take extra care to use adequate sun protection. If you're serious about improving your skin, you should be applying a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day.
